Top 10 Halloween Costumes 2014

Halloween, all the costumes, decorations and effort put in for one sinister night of fun. Whether you're going trick or treating with your children, going out clubbing for the night or throwing your own mammoth fancy dress party, it is the perfect excuse to get dressed up and make a splash. The perfect way of doing this isn't just by spending hours making a costume from scratch, just grab something that is going to freak people out, an outfit with a bit of character that you can really make your own. I have compiled a list of a few great costumes that will really separate the men from the boys this Halloween.

10) Sequin Pumpkin dress
This glistening dress is the ideal outfit for all you girls looking to go for a night out on the town, the dress is subtle and whilst everyone will clearly know you are out to celebrate, you will not get half way through the night and realise you have sweated all your face paint off. The great thing out this dress is you can make it your own by accessorizing yourself, team this dress with your favourite pair of heels and become a classic classy pumpkin.

Recommended accessories:
- Sequin pumpkin headband - The perfect addition to the pumpkin dress, keeping with the subtleness we made it to compliment the costume in every way.
- Green glitter top hat - This sweet little hat is ideal for if you want to make more of a statement with its glittery design and attached veil. It is also attached to a headband so perfect for all you women out there that love to have a dance.
- Stockings/Tights - We have a great range of stockings and tights to fit the bill but I think the best looking ones would have to be the orange and black striped stockings or the black stockings with orange bows. Of course this costume is a real show stopper and really has no need for extras, it is great for these autumnal months when you don't necessarily want to be hanging outside a club freezing to death.

 

9) Skeleton Skinsuit 
When the morphsuits craze started in 2009 we thought it was unstoppable, but here we are 5 years on and it has not slowed down a notch. We absolutely love them but they are a little expensive for one night of fun, we designed this skeleton bone print skinsuit as a cheaper alternative for our customers, it still keeps with the creepy craze without breaking the bank. This costume is pefect for adding accessories because other that the traditional bone print, it is a blank canvas.

   

Recommended accessories:
- Wigs - I know this sounds a little crazy but why not stick a wig on one of these skin suits to add a bit of personality, be it a long blonde wig or a multi coloured mo hawk this is sure to attract a bit of attention at your party.
- Hats - Just like the wigs it is a great eccentric accessory that can change your skin suit from being just like the rest. It will add a novelty twist to your outfit that will make you stand out from the crowds. Add a Mexican sombrero for day of the dead themed fancy dress or a mad hatter hat for dead Disney parties!
- Other accessories - Take a trawl through our accessories and you will realise anything is possible with this costume, from a hot pink feather boa or a tutu to a pair of orange hippy specs you really can't go wrong. 

8) Sexy Skeleton Tutu Costume
This was our best selling ladies costume last year and there's no wonder as to why, with the classic skeleton print top and tights and a glittery black tutu it is an ideal outfit for the modern girl. This costume comes in xsmall, small, medium, large and xlarge and literally comes with everything you could ever need in a costume. 

  

Recommended accessories:
- Face Paint - We have a great range of our own branded water based face paints including tri colour pots that would be perfect for doing skeleton make up, the costume will look just as good with no make up but is perfect if you consider yourself creative, I have seen loads of great half skeleton face paintings that look amazing.
- Contact lenses - Take a look at our novelty 1 day disposable contact lenses that would be an excellent addition to this costume, it is the perfect way to set yourself apart from the rest and freak people out.

7) Zombie Hunter Sheriff Costume
Now I don't know if I can be a fair judge on this costume as I am a massive fan of AMC's hit show The Walking Dead. This is our copycat Rick Grimes costume and with the new season just starting it is an ideal, current outfit that is immediately recognisable to much of the public. We have teamed a US sheriff costume with a plastic axe and bottle of fake blood to make an uncanny double of the man himself. You will be fending off walkers left right and center in this suit

Recommended accessories:
- Fake gun - now we have included in the full costume set a plastic axe but I believe Rick's weapon of choice is usually a gun, the reason we added the axe was for more of a killer zombie hunter effect, the gun was just not gory enough for us. If you want to go for more of an authentic look grab yourself an inflatable machine gun.

6) Deluxe Ghost Bride Costume
Quality deluxe ghost bride costume, this outfit is perfect for any ladies throwing a Halloween bash that are looking to be the hostess with the mostess. The dress is so detailed you might start getting cold feet, although, it is meant to resemble the well know Great Expectations character Miss Havisham who we all know was left at the altar herself. Included in this outfit is the well made beige dress and a long veil on headband.

Recommended accessories:
- Face Paint - I would recommend a ghostly white face paint to give the costume a scarier look. I also think if you add some red or black face paint to your lips or lipstick if you have some will really bring the outfit together.

 

5) Adult Wizard Costume
Expelliarmus! This outfit is great as you can do so much with it, add a short black wig, circular wizard glasses and become Harry Potter himself. Or add a ginger wig and become his clumsy right hand man Ron Weasley. Ladies I haven't forgotten about you, team this with a grey pencil skirt, shirt and wizard tie and you can go as Hermione Granger. The authentic look robe has our very own wizard school logo, the robe is black with a hood and has red lining inside. We also have this costume available in children's sizes for your little one's school book week or World book day dress up!

Recommended accessories:
Wand - We have two wands to choose from, either the classic magicians wand, black with to white ends or the branch wand which can be mistaken for a twig if you want to go for the authentic Hogwarts look.

Glasses - If you are planning on depicting Harry Potter himself you will need a pair of round circular glasses.

Wig - We have a few different wigs too choose from, if you want to be Harry Potter then a short black one is ideal. A short ginger wig if you are planning to enter a Ron Weasley look a like contest and if you want to look like Hermione then a long brown wig with a fringe.

Tie/Scarf - The perfect way to finish the costume is with either our purple and gold striped tie or our Gryfindor look quality scarf.

 

4) Evil Dog Lady Costume
I love this outfit, perfect for Disney themed fancy dress parties as well as Superhero and Villain parties. I was terrified of Cruella De Ville as a child watching my favourite movie 101 Dalmatians and she had such a bold look that everyone will know who you are immediately. We have this costume in a few variations with different types of long elbow length gloves and wigs. 

Recommended accessories:
Wig - We have this costume with the wigs already included so all you need to do is choose the costume set you prefer more. The wigs you can choose from are a standard half black and half white afro style crimped wig that looks excellent after a good back combing. The other wig we have on offer is our new deluxe sleek half black half white bob wig. Both the wigs have matching coloured netting underneath, so you never know, someone may mistake it for your real hair.
Gloves - The gloves on offer are both long elbow length and you can choose either a red velvet feel or classic dalmatian print.
Make up - To make sure everyone knows who you are don't forget to smother your lips in some bright red lipstick and add some black around your eyes to make them stand out.

3) Ladies Vampiress Dress
The black figure hugging dress we have on offer is perfect for Halloween, it suits any figure and has a flattering fishtail style bottom. The reason this dress appeals to me so much is that it is a base for so many different costumes, you can wear it on its own with a black wig and be Morticia Addams from The Addams Family with the click of your fingers, or add one of our deluxe velour hooded capes to become a Volturi member from Twilight. There is so much you can do with this dress and at such a cheap price you can't go wrong.

Recommended accessories:
Wig - Add a long black wig with a middle parting and you will be all set to dress as Morticia or maybe a black wig with a white streak and go as a classic witch.
Cape/Cloak - We have the perfect capes to add to this dress to look like a seductive Vampiress, they are available in black, red or purple and are perfect if you want to be a little more covered

Face Paint - Why not add a black witches hat and some green face paint and you can quite easily become Elphaba Thropp from the hit musical Wicked and a hugely popular book character.

 

2) Puppet Set
Who says you need to buy a full costume? Why not buy one of these puppet sets that we have made perfect for dressing as the Billy Puppet from the Saw movies. It comes with all the accessories you need to scare the living daylights out of people. These sets are super effective and super cheap!

Recommended accessories:
Suit - You don't need to buy a suit for a costume as most people have one sitting in the back of their wardrobes, even just a black blazer will make this accessory set in to a costume
Contact lenses - If you choose to go for the Saw make up kit puppet set then the bloody red 1 day disposable contact lenses are the ideal way to finish your costume. You will find people double taking when they look at you to see if they are your real eyes.

 

1) Crazy Ghost Costume

This is by far the most effective costume we have on sale this year, it is also perfect if you have seen and enjoy the Beetlejuice film. Imagine bumping in to this on Halloween night! Included is the black and white striped jacket and trousers and a black tie, we also have a costume set available that includes the freaky grey wig and the white, grey and black face paint to finish the look.

Face Paint - The tri colour black, grey and white is the ideal face paint for this costume, again this comes available in the costume set so you have nothing to worry about.
Tip - when taking the picture of this costume we put a little of the black face paint on the models teeth to give a truly disgusting look!
