Wear it, Beat it - February 6th
As a result of heart or circulatory disease one in four people will lose their life, and this is why the British Heart Foundation is once again asking everyone to wear red on February 6th and raise money for life-saving research. The UK’s single biggest killer is Coronary Heart Disease and it affects people of all ages. Much still needs to be done, however, and they need your help to continue their important work.
The Wear It, Beat It campaign is the perfect opportunity for all of us to chip in. Whether you decide to wear just a note of red or go all out, there are plenty of fundraising options for you to choose from. Although heart disease can be a sad subject to discuss, when it comes to fundraising we find it is better to focus on fighting back in a strong and positive way - make someone smile during your fundraising activities with some of these red additions:
More than 18,000 people have already signed up to take part in Wear It, Beat It, and you can too by downloading your free fundraising kit from the BHF website.
Fundraising
There’s so much you can do to mark the day and raise some much-needed funds. Why not host a wear red event and ask your guests to wear something red. Hold a party and serve only red-coloured food and drink, decorate your home in red, host a movie night showing films with a red theme, or throw a fancy dress party and have everyone turn up in red costumes. We couldn’t think of a better way of sticking it to Heart and Circulatory disease.
So come on everyone lets do our bit, ever if it is just a small donation to the British Heart Foundation. Go to their website for more information on the fantastic and vital work they do, and find out how to get involved in Wear it, Beat it and other fundraising events.
